MANNY CASTAÑEDA – The renowned director gave a message to the critics of the highly anticipated movie, Maid in Malacañang.

The life of the Marcos family will be depicted in the drama-comedy film Maid in Malacañang.

The movie is about the last 72 hours of the Marcos family in the Palace.

It stars Cesar Montano as former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., Diego Loyzaga as President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Cristine Reyes as Senator Imee Marcos, and Ruffa Gutierrez as Imelda Romualdez Marcos and Ella Cruz as Irene Marcos.

While those who will portray as house helpers of the Marcos family are Elizabeth Oropesa as Yaya Lucy, Beverly Salviejo as Yaya Biday, and Karla Estrada as Yaya Santa.

Maid in Malacañang is directed by controversial director Darryl Yap. It was just recently when the teaser has been released.

A lot of netizens expressed their support for the film, however, there are few who criticized it. Others even claimed that there will be a “history revisionism” in the movie.

History Revisionism is the revision of the historical record that can reflect new discoveries of fact, evidence, and interpretation, which then results in revised history.

But Manny Castañeda, a renowned director, came out to defend the movie and gave a message to critics.

On Facebook, he shared his thoughts about the movie and gave a message to critics.

“Nagtataka lang ako kung bakit sobrang galit at parang natatakot ang mga anti Marcos sa project na ito. May dapat ba silang katakutan?” he asked.
