Anjo Yllana Unsure How to Pay ₱3.5 Million in Court-Ordered Damages
ANJO YLLANA – The actor-comedian is uncertain whether he will be able to pay the ₱3.5 million in damages ordered by the court after it ruled in favor of TVJ Productions Inc. in a case involving social media posts that were found to have harmed the reputation of the long-running noontime show Eat Bulaga. Reports said the actor and television host is also unsure about his next legal step following the court’s decision.
“Sinabi nitong honestly, hindi niya alam ang kaniyang next move. Pero ‘yong mabayaran ‘yong ₱3.5 milyong bilang damages, hindi rin niya alam kung saan hahagilapin,” Ogie Diaz said.
Legal experts explained that if the ruling becomes final, failure to pay the damages could lead to court-authorized collection measures. A sheriff may be assigned to identify and seize valuable assets, such as vehicles, artwork, and other expensive belongings, to help settle the amount owed. In some cases, income from television projects or brand endorsements may also be subject to legal collection. However, the law protects certain essential properties from being seized, including a family home under specific conditions, basic personal belongings, and recent salary intended to support a family.

At present, these collection procedures cannot begin because Anjo still has the legal right to appeal the decision before the Court of Appeals. While the appeal is pending, the court cannot issue a writ of execution, meaning the damages cannot yet be enforced.

The court also granted a permanent injunction recognizing TVJ Productions’ right, as the producer of Eat Bulaga, to protect the show’s name, reputation, and goodwill. As a result, Anjo and anyone acting on his behalf were ordered to stop publishing, sharing, uploading, or spreading statements on TikTok and other social media platforms that could harm the reputation of TVJ Productions or Eat Bulaga.
