VALENTINE ROSALES – The controversial social media personality reacted to Pura Luka Vega’s statement, in which the drag artist responded to the persona non grata declarations issued against him.

The drag artist gained significant attention when a video of his performance, in which he danced to the Filipino Lord’s Prayer “Ama Namin” remix version while portraying Jesus Christ, became widely popular online. This act sparked controversy and received criticism from various members of the public, including senators, who deemed it offensive, disrespectful, and sacrilegious.

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) categorized the drag queen’s actions as a form of “ridicule” and “blasphemy.” Additionally, Geraldine Roman, who represents the 1st District of Bataan and is an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, expressed disapproval of the performance.

Consequently, several local government units (LGUs) such as Toboso in Negros Occidental, Floridablanca in Pampanga, General Santos City, the province of Bukidnon, and Manila City have formally designated the drag artist as “Persona Non Grata”.

Eventually, Pura Luka Vega issued a statement in response to the persona non grata declaration issued against him. “Tell me EXACTLY what I did wrong. I’m open to a dialogue, yet cities have been declaring persona non grata without even knowing me or understanding the intent of the performance. Drag is art. You judge me, yet you don’t even know me,” he noted.

Among those who reacted to his statement was none other than Valentine Rosales. In the comment section of Philippine Star’s post, he remarked, “Ayy ang tapang, ok lang yan persona non grata ka din sa Langit.” His comment garnered reactions from netizens. A certain Jeffrey Solinap told him, “Di ka rin naman welcome dun.”

To recall, Valentine Rosales rose to fame following the death of flight attendant Christine Dacera. Meanwhile, other social media users have suggested that he should be banned not only in selected areas but throughout the entire Philippines.
