Kris Bernal: “Comparison is toxic”
KRIS BERNAL – The actress and content creator gave a reaction about insensitive comments comparing her with other pregnant mothers.
She posted a video of herself on her social media account and also revealed some of her personal feelings as a pregnant mother. It can be recalled that she announced in her vlog that she’s expected to give birth on August 14, 2023.
In her social media post, she shared that being compared to other pregnant women like her is downright “toxic”.
According to her, it’s hard enough for her not to compare the size of her belly to another pregnant woman’s belly but “comparison is toxic”. She added that she reminded herself that the body of every pregnant woman is unique and it should be celebrated.
The actress also poured her heart out about the challenges she’s facing as soon-to-be mom of her first child.
“When you’re in the third trimester and every movement takes a million times more energy than normal (ROFL or rolling on the floor laughing emoji). And, being pregnant in this heat is (weary and fire emojis),” she said in the caption of her social media post.
She added that she doesn’t mind getting bigger, rounder, heavier each day as long as her baby girl is healthy.
Meanwhile, Kris released a vlog where she and her husband Perry Choi went to The Parenting Emporium to not only attend class as soon-to-be parents but also buy essentials as well.
In the description of her vlog titled “Prenatal Workshops for our Little Sunshine’s Arrival”, she said that she and her husband knew they needed to take up pre-natal classes in order to provide them information about pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and transition into parenthood.
As seen in one of her posts on Instagram Stories, the actress expressed her gratitude to those who shared their experiences, gave pieces of advice, and sent lots of encouragement to her.
It can be recalled that the couple, who tied the knot in 2021, announced last March that they’re expecting their first child. The couple also revealed last April that they’re expecting a baby girl.
