Katrina Paula on claims of Sabrina’s “secret relationship” with Rico Yan: “Baka nagkatikiman sila”
KATRINA PAULA – A close friend of Sabrina M belied the “secret relationship” claim of the actress with late matinee idol, Rico Yan.
Sabrina M, a daring actress who rose to fame in the 90s, claimed earlier that she had a “secret relationship” with Rico Yan. This upset showbiz reporters, netizens, and even Claudine Barretto, the ex-girlfriend of Rico.
“Alam po ni Claudine na naging kami. Pero never pa namin pinagusapan po. Wala namang problem kasi noong naging kami, wala na sila ni Claudine. Hindi ko naman inagaw si Rico sa kanya noong sila pala,” Sabrina said. “Matagal ko rin pinag-iisipan kung pupunta ba ako sa burol niya or hindi. Baka ma-issue kasi. Pero may nagsabi sa akin pumunta raw ako para respeto lang sa kanya. Dahil naging kami naman daw,” she added.
But in an interview with Cristy Fermin, Katrina Paula, a close friend of Sabrina M, belied the actress’s claim. According to her, there was no romantic relationship between them. Katrina had a suspicion that Sabrina and Rico had shared a few nights together, but she didn’t believe their relationship had progressed enough for them to become an official couple. “Nay, wala. Walang relasyon na naganap sa kanila. Baka nagkatikiman sila, pero yung relasyon, hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling.” said Katrina.
Additionally, she confirmed that Sabrina attended both Rico’s wake and burial. Katrina also advised her friend to refrain from fabricating stories for the sake of publicity. Meanwhile, Claudine Barretto took to the social media platform, Instagram wherein she thanked Katrina Paula for “telling the truth.”
