Earlier, a netizen named Samboy Regla took to social media wherein he posted about Yuri, a Russian national.

According to him, he saw the latter sleeping in front of a convenience store in Barangay Mactan, Lapu Lapu City.

His post went viral online, which caught the attention of Lapu Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan.

Based on the information they retrieved, the foreign national is a Russian named Yuri.

He has a Filipina wife named Mary Rose May Fuentes and they have three kids.

However, his wife left for Mindanao taking all his money and kids.

His wife also brought with her his documents and passport.

Allegedly, his wife sold all the businesses and properties he has established in the country.

Mayor Ahong instructed the DRRMO to rescue the foreigner. He was brought to the public hospital to assess his condition.

Nurses found out that he has an aching and swelling arm. He was given immediate care eventually.

But when a nurse assigned to him returned to check his condition, he was already taken by his landlady where he used to stay.

Then, the mayor instructed the City Social Welfare Development Office to pay a visit to the Russian national, gave him food supplies, and offered him free expense travel back to his home country, Russia.

The mayor said that the foreigner might have been traumatized by his situation.

His neighbors said that the foreigner is probably hoping that he could reconcile with his wife.

In the end, the mayor assured that they will monitor the foreign national and address his needs.
