Harry Roque To Join President Duterte’s Campaign Trail

Harry Roque said that he will join President Duterte’s campaign trail.

HARRY ROQUE – The senatorial aspirant and former Presidential spokesperson said on Thursday that he will join President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign trail.

This, despite he’s running for senator under the slate of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr as a guest candidate.

During the campaign trail in Batangas province, Roque said that he’s the senatorial candidate of the People’s Reform Party (PRP) which was part of the administration, adding that his candidacy will continue and he will stand with the President wherever he campaigned for senator.

The former Palace spokesman also shared that he also learned from President Duterte that the administration has no standard-bearer and that it can choose its own leader.

Roque’s remark came after he announced that he would join the senatorial slate of Bongbong and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, who was running for the vice-presidential seat in the 2022 elections.

President Duterte supported the presidential bid of Senator Bong Go, who recently announced that he’s withdrawing from the presidential race. At one point, the President called Bongbong a “weak leader”.

For his part, Roque said that he trusted Mayor Sara as she embodied all the qualities of Duterte, such as honesty, ability, and courage, thus running for vice president and teaming up with the former senator was the right decision.

He also said that he has not seen any corruption and human rights charges filed against the former senator, adding that Bongbong was only 15 years old in 1972 when his father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr, declared martial law.
