Pres. Duterte Takes Swipe on Presidential Candidate for Election 2022
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte slammed an unnamed presidential candidate saying that he is a very weak leader.
The Election 2022 is fast approaching and among the presidential aspirants are popular names in the political arena. Some of them are even incumbent politicians.
Since the filing of the candidacy period, talks about the election are taking the social media platforms by storm. Several political figures have also aired their sentiments, support, and criticism to certain aspirants in the next election.
Recently, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte slammed an unnamed presidential aspirant in the Election 2022. He raised a question on what the candidate has one that some Filipinos were really hooked to him.
“Bakit ang Pilipino parang lokong-loko na supporting? Magtanong lang ako sa inyo, ano ang ginawa n’yan?
Based on the report, Pres. Duterte further expressed that it depends on the Filipinos but he is just saying that the presidential candidate that they are supporting has a very weak character as a leader.
“He is a very weak leader ang character niya, except for the name. Ang tatay – pero siya, anong ginawa niya?” the 76-year-old Chief Executive said.
A lot of netizens speculate that, although he did not name names, the President might be referring to presidential aspirant and former Sen. Bongbong Marcos Jr. Earlier, he expressed that he cannot support Marcos Jr. and stressed that he never said that he will support his candidacy.
The President is vocal about his support to the presidential bid of his former long-time aide and Sen. Bong Go. He is the standard-bearer of PDP-Laban Cusi wing. Initially, he filed his candidacy as the party’s vice presidential candidate but he withdrew it upon knowing that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is running for the same position. He is close to the President and his family.
Mayor Duterte is the running-mate of Marcos Jr. According to Pres. Duterte, he told the Senator to run for president since the position is vacant. He is supporting the Senator and his daughter in the upcoming election.
