JANELLA SALVADOR – Netizens speculate that the actress will portray the role of Valentina in the latest television adaptation of Darna.

The series will premiere in 2022 starring Jane de Leon as Darna/Narda Custodio, Joshua Garcia as Brian Samonte Robles, a policeman and Narda’s love interest and Zaijan Jaranilla as Ricardo “Ding” Custodio, Narda’s brother and sidekick.

Of course, joining the TV series is no other than the supervillain, Valentina. However, ABS-CBN has yet to introduce who will be playing the archenemy of Darna.

But some netizens claimed that it was actress Janella Salvador.

Recently, the actress trended on the micro-blogging site, Twitter as some hinted that she might be the next to portray the role of the superhero’s snake-haired nemesis.

ABS-CBN is set to reveal the persona behind Valentina today, November 19. She will be the last character to be introduced in the teleserye.

Meanwhile, among those who will also join the series are Rio Locsin as Roberta Ferrer-Custodio, Kiko Estrada as Noah Ballesteros and Iza Calzado as Leonor Custodio, a “prime warrior” from Planet Marte and the mother of Ding and Darna’s human alter ego Narda. She is the “first Darna” who will pass on her magical stone to her daughter Narda.

Darna is a fictional Filipino comics superheroine created by writer Mars Ravelo and artist Nestor Redondo. Among those who have played the iconic superheroine are Rosa del Rosario, Gina Pareño, Vilma Santos, Lorna Tolentino, Sharon Cuneta, Nanette Medved, Anjanette Abayari, Regine Velasquez, Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera.

On the other hand, those who have played the role of Valentina are Cristina Aragon, Celia Rodriguez, Pilar Pilapil, Pilita Corrales, Alessandra de Rossi, Iwa Moto and to name a few.
