Generous Teacher Named Mary Jean Llavares Earns Praises Online for Providing Free Radio & USB Drives to Her Students
MANILA – Teacher Mary Jean Llavares of Masbate City provides free radios and USB drives to help her students with the distance learning system.
The generous teacher earns praises and admiration from the online community for providing help to her students. She gives free transistor radio with built in MP3 player and USB flash drives containing the recorded lessons for science subject.
Mary Jean “Jin” Llavares is working as a teacher at Nursery Elementary School in Masbate City. She is handling five sections in Grade 4 this school year. The educator’s deed shows her love and concern for her beloved students.
Teacher Jin said that the school is implementing printed modular distance learning since schools have closed due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Last year, Llavares also give radio-based instructions to guide her students.
Currently, the lady teacher was able to distribute free radios and USB drives to one section because her fund is limited. She recorded her lessons at the USB drives to make learning more accessible.
The good thing about this idea, students could repeatedly play the lessons to learn it well. She also seeks help and donations from the public so she could provide more devices for her students.
A set of radio and USB flash drive costs around P500, according to the teacher.
