JV Ejercito has been endorsed by Duterte
RODRIGO DUTERTE – The President of the Republic of the Philippines has officially endorsed the senatorial bid of his friend, JV Ejercito.
The senatorial slot is one of the coveted positions during the national elections.
This year, out of hundreds who filed their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) only 12 will be elected.
Among those who are rooting a senatorial slot in the coming elections are ordinary citizens to elite individuals as well as prominent personalities.
One of the hopefuls in the senatorial polls is no less than JV Ejercito.
Recently, President Duterte officially endorsed the candidacy of the former senator.
In his video message, Duterte said he considers Ejercito as a friend and partner of his administration.
“I endorse JV Ejercito as he runs for the Senate in the upcoming elections. JV Ejercito has always been a friend and a partner of this administration in pushing for advocacies that advance our development agenda, especially for the poor,” Duterte said.
Duterte also cited his efforts in the formulation and reenactment of the Universal Healthcare Law and the law to establish the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).
As a response, Ejercito thanked the president for endorsing his senatorial bid.
If given another chance to serve the country through the Senate, JV Ejercito promised that he would focus on the implementation of the Universal Healthcare law and advancing mass transit and infrastructure development.
Joseph Victor Gomez Ejercito served as a senator from 2013 to 2019.
Prior to that, he served as the representative of San Juan from 2010 to 2013 and was the city’s mayor from 2001 to 2010.
JV is the son of former Philippine president Joseph “Erap” Estrada. He’s also the half-brother of former senator Jinggoy Estrada.
