In order to buy an iPhone, a mother sold her 8-month-old son
INDIA – A mother of two sold her 8-month-old son to buy an iPhone to make reels.
The woman’s neighbors became suspicious when they saw her proudly displaying a new iPhone and creating reels on social media, despite her 8-month-old son being missing for several days.
“In a shocking incident from 24 Parganas, West Bengal Sathi, a mother of two sold her 8 months old SON to buy an iPhone to make reels,” NCMIndia Council For Men Affairs tweeted. “Her Neighbors got suspicious when they saw her flashing brand new iPhone and making reels while her 8 months old son was missing since many days. When they confronted her she told them that she sold her son to buy the phone,” it added.
When her neighbors confronted her about her new iPhone and the disappearance of her child, she confessed that she had indeed sold her son in order to afford the phone. Disturbingly, it appears that she also had intentions to sell her 8-year-old daughter. Fortunately, her neighbors caught her in the act and immediately reported the situation to the authorities.
“Few days after selling her son Sathi also tried to sell her 8 years old daughter but her neighbors caught her and informed the police,” it noted.
Meanwhile, selling a child, which is a form of child trafficking and a serious criminal offense, is a heinous act and is considered a grave violation of human rights and child protection laws in most countries including India.
