Kennedy Nakar, a BL actor, died from leukemia
KENNEDY NAKAR – The BL actor and YouTuber passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, due to complications from leukemia.
Ken, 24, was hospitalized on June 3, and it was on June 21 that he opened up on social media about his condition. At the time, he revealed that he underwent a procedure called Bone Marrow Aspiration for checking and diagnosis.
Then, he underwent another test, the 2D Echo, to check his heart. A few hours later, a cardiologist visited him and told him that his pericardium had collected fluid. On June 7, he had another operation to put in a pericardial catheter.
Three days later, the result of his bone marrow test was released, and he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. His hematologist doctor said chemotherapy is the only way to treat his condition.
On June 30, he went on social media again to give an update about his condition. “Gusto ko sana magpahinga kahit ilang oras lang, pero ‘di ko magawa, maya-maya ay komportable ako sa isang lugar at posisyon ng hospital bed, pero after ilang minuto kakapusin na naman ako ng hininga,” he said at the time.
He added that there were times when his fever reached 39.2 degrees Centigrade. His last post on Facebook was dated July 18.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Nakar was an actor who rose to fame in the BL series Lakan, which aired in 2020, alongside his boyfriend Paul Cervantes. They were dubbed “The First Real-Life BL Couple of the Philippines.” They were supposed to celebrate their four years of being together this coming August 13.
