Here’s why Herlene Budol rejected TAPE’s offer to host Eat Bulaga
HERLENE BUDOL – The famous celebrity who’s also known as “Hipon Girl” revealed that Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc.) had offered her the opportunity to host the revamped edition of Eat Bulaga.
During a media conference for GMA 7’s new show “Magandang Dilag,” Hipon confirmed the reports circulating on social media and disclosed that she had been approached to join the Eat Bulaga team as one of the replacements for the hosts who resigned from TAPE on May 31, 2023.
Despite the offer, Hipon turned it down, not because she was concerned about potential criticism, but due to her current schedule. She expressed her willingness to accept the offer once she has completed her ongoing projects. “After po nito, why not po? Sobrang happy po ako kung sakali po,” she said. “Sa tamang panahon naman po yan, eh. May mga bagay naman po siguro na kung para sa yo, para sa yo,” she added.
It should be noted that rumors circulated on social media about Hipon Girl’s possible appearance on Eat Bulaga alongside Isko Moreno. However, only Isko made an appearance on the show last Saturday and announced his regular hosting role on the controversial noontime program.
Several new hosts of Eat Bulaga, including Paolo Contis and Buboy Villar, faced criticism on social media from fans of the former Dabarkads. These fans expressed their belief that the original hosts of the show could never be replaced.
