It was just recently when the actor-comedian complained about their experience at Aling Mahrya, a seafood restaurant. In an Instagram post, he revealed their bill reached as much as P38,868. Among they ordered were fruit shake worth P450 and lobster for P5,500 per kilo. Because of this, the comedian appealed to the Department of Tourism to visit the establishments in Seaside.

His post went viral, garning mixed reactions from the netizens. Among those who reacted is the so-called motivational speaker, Rendon Labador.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Dennis Padilla revealed that Aling Mahrya restaurant has a way for customers to somehow ignore how much they have ordered.

According to him, they were entertained by some staff of the said restaurant and they end up ordering more food. Eventually, they forget to ask how much they ordered. When they learned about their bill, they were surprised that it actually reached to more than P38,000.

“Ganito ang style nila diyan. May haharap sa inyong 3 baklang maharot, itong 3 baklang maharot, nakakatuwa sila kasi nagpe-perform sila parang stand up comedian habang kinukuha yun order mo,” he said.

“So tatawa ka, matutuwa ka. Nung nagreklamo na ako at bumaba na yung balikbayan friend ko ng mga bago mag-3. Nung nagrereklamo na ako, ‘Sobra naman kayo. Hinoldap niyo yung kaibigan ko.’ Sabi ko, ‘Ito lang kami, 6 na adult at 1 bata.’ Ano yan? 5,000 isa pare?” he added.

According to him, even the drinks in the said seafood restaurant were unfairly priced. “Nagkamali pa nga ako sa 450 na mango shake, ang 450 yung pineapple shake. Ang mango shake, chinarge yung balikbayan friend ko ng 650,” he said.

He allegedly asked the restaurant several times to list the complete details of their order but they refused. He said: “Nakipagtalo ako, ayaw i-itemize, inaano lang, sinasabi lang. ‘Hindi, ganito po boss. Idol ko pa naman po kayo.”
