In a video which he uploaded on Instagram, Dennis couldn’t help but express his dismay toward Aling Mahrya, a seafood restaurant located in Seaside, Pasay City. In the first part of the video, Dennis shared that they bought a Mango shake in the restaurant that cost P450 while the lobster is being sold for P5500 per kilo.

According to him, he went to the seafood resto along with his “balikbayan” best friend and five other people. However, instead of having a delightful experience, they were utterly disappointed.

Dennis said that he used to eat at expensive restaurants but their experience at Aling Mahrya was “too much” for him. After eating out at the said restaurant, their bill was around P38,000. He said he felt sorry for his best friend who paid for their meal.

In the last part of his video, Dennis Padilla called the attention of the Department of Tourism to check into the establishments at Seaside. His post went viral garnering mixed reactions from the netizens and among those who commented is actor-comedian Janno Gibbs. In the comment section, he wrote: “Grabe nmn presyo!”

This is not the first time that such a thing happened. It was in August this year when an island in Panglao, Bohol called Virgin Island made a buzz earlier after a netizen shared that her friend was charged over 26,000 pesos in a seafood “paluto”.

But the vendor denied that there was overpricing. Apparently, the damage has been done. All the tourist activities on the island have been suspended and the stalls were removed by the local government unit.

  2. As of this year, 2023, a kilo of imported Maine Lobster is less than P2,000 a kilo at retail here in Metro Manila. Cooking add-on paluto fee is usually P300 per kilo of any chosen meat. So with P2,500 a couple of person can already eat a decent lobster busog meals in any paluto. Dennis and company were overcharged.

    • Masyadong pricey talaga.
