Percival Mabasa, also known as Percy Lapid, was shot dead on Monday evening, October 3, in Barangay Talon Dos, Las Piñas City.

Lapid was a columnist for Hataw and the host of the online broadcast program “Percy Lapid Fire” at DWBL 1242.

He was known for his furious commentaries on different happenings in the country, especially in politics.

Lapid was on his way to work for his online broadcast program “Lapid Fire” at DWBL 1242 when he was shot several times at the gate of BF Resort Village at around 8:30 p.m.

On the other hand, it was on Sunday morning when she was taken hostage by an inmate identified as Feliciano Sulayao Jr.

The suspect tried to escape the Camp Crame Custodial Center where the former senator is being detained.

De Lima noted in a statement that while she was praying, Sulayao entered her detention cell, took her hostage, and pressed a sharp object against her chest.

Eventually, Sulayao was killed by a responding police officer.

His two other companions identified as Arnel Cabintoy, and Idang Susukan were also killed.

Meanwhile, award-winning director Erik Matti reacted to the two hard news.

“May mga nagta-tag sa akin sa Twitter ng Percy Lapid story and even yung Leila De Lima story. They were reminded of On The Job. Parang On The Job ang kuwento,” he said.

According to him, what happened to De Lima was only in the Philippines.

“Ang una kong reaksiyon, ang sama, kasi natawa ako. Ang naisip ko, I’ve been to that prison system because I visited Bong Revilla Jr. and Jinggoy Estrada years back,” he said.
