In the September 14 episode of his program titled Damdaming Bayan, Macalma urged Marcos Jr. to lessen his social activities in Malacañang like parties and mini concerts.

It can be recalled that it was on September 13 when PBBM celebrated his 65th birthday. The president held a “luncheon” in Malacañang and later a dinner-party at a hotel.

But according to Deo Macalma, a veteran broadcast journalist, what Marcos is doing is ‘insensitive’ because the country is still facing a crisis.

“Unsolicited advice Mr. President: Bawasan niyo ang social activities niyo tulad ng ala-mini concert niyo, parang ang dating insensitive,” he said.

“Nakakahiya dahil may pandemya pa, tapos daming walang trabaho, daming nagugutom tapos nakikita kayong nagsasaya. Baka sabihin Mr. President, ngayong nakabalik na kayo sa Malacañang, happy days are here again,” he added.

The Palace has yet to give any reaction regarding the statement of Macalma.

Meanwhile, aside from the luncheon, the president held a dinner party in Hilton Manila, Pasay City.

At one point, Marcos Jr. joined the performers onstage as he sings the song Imagine by John Lennon.

Prior to the birthday party of PBBM, several social activities have already been held in the palace including the birthday party of former First Lady Imelda Marcos.

But according to Senator Imee Marcos, her mom’s birthday celebration at the Palace is not a party.
