Jessy Mendiola: “Kung ako lang to, rock and roll lang ako pero kasi I have a baby inside of me. I’m just hoping na it won’t affect my baby”
JESSY MENDIOLA — The actress recently revealed that she tested positive for COVID-19 while being pregnant.
In her latest YouTube vlog, Jessy shared her COVID-19 journey that made her worried about her baby. According to her, she worried for her baby because she contracted COVID-19 while being 5 months pregnant.
The actress was surprised to get COVID-19 after evading it for more than 2 years. Luckily, her doctors constantly checked up on her in order to make sure that her coronavirus symptoms were bearable.
She experienced fever and mild colds in the initial days of her isolation and later on developed a mild cough which worried her further.
According to Jessy, her doctor would recommend different medications should her cough persist, which they have been avoiding since she’s 5 months pregnant.
Fortunately, Jessy’s cough eased the next day. It took her 11 days inside her room before testing negative for coronavirus disease twice through antigen kits.

On Facebook, the actress said that she shared her COVID-19 experience with the public because she wants to spread awareness that the coronavirus disease is still very much around even if health protocols are easing up and there’s already a mandate allowing people not to wear masks outdoors.
“Sa mga preggy mommies/ladies, I’m sure makaka-relate kayo dito.. ang hirap pala talaga magkasakit kapag alam mong may dinadala ka sa iyong sinapupunan hindi dahil sa sarili mo, pero dahil magaalala ka talaga para sa baby/anak mo at siyempre para sa asawa mo,” she wrote.
Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano tied the knot in a garden ceremony in February 2021, and belatedly announced to the public that they got married two months later in April.
It was last August when the couple announced to the public that they’re expecting a baby.
