Earlier, incoming Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said that she’s going to open up Mindanao to tourism.

However, the pronouncement earned a negative reaction from journalist Raissa Robles.

“Apparently, Frasco would like to open up Mindanao to tourism. I’m sure the extremist Abu Sayyaf and other bandits would be pleased by the prospects of so many potential kidnap victims. Way to go, Frasco. Prep yourself for ransom negotiations. ASG might ask you to nego personally,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, incoming Vice President Sara Duterte released a statement addressed to Robles due to her irresponsible and discriminatory views of Mindanao and the Mindanawons.

Here’s the statement of the presidential daughter:

Mayor Inday lauded that since her father came into office in 2016, kidnapping operations by Abu Sayyaf Group in Mindanao have been significantly reduced. She added that there had been zero kidnappings in Basilan.

Aside from incoming VP Sara Duterte, among those who reacted to the controversial statement of Robles is Kusug Tausug party-list Rep. Shernee Tan-Tambut.

According to her, she respects Robles for being an opposition to the incoming Marcos administration but she should not forget that as a journalist, her duty is bound to put fairness and facts before biases.

Tambut said Robles’ opposition to the incoming administration is not a reason to give an “unfounded judgment” on policies that have not yet been implemented.

Tan-Tambut also invited Robles to Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Zamboanga City so that she could experience peace in the southern part of Mindanao.

Raissa Robles has yet to issue any statement regarding the statement of Sara Duterte.

  1. Robles then is an ignorant journalists, she doesn’t know where she as called journalist should stand. This people against the incoming administration and the current one are capable indeed of inviting decisiveness, havoc and whatever… just to contradict what they do not want. Maybe, you should volunteer in SPACEEx and be in Mars instead.
