Earlier, incoming Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said that she’s going to open up Mindanao to tourism.

Apparently, the pronouncement earned a negative reaction from journalist Raissa Robles.

“Apparently, Frasco would like to open up Mindanao to tourism. I’m sure the extremist Abu Sayyaf and other bandits would be pleased by the prospects of so many potential kidnap victims. Way to go, Frasco. Prep yourself for ransom negotiations. ASG might ask you to nego personally,” she wrote.

This prompted Kusug Tausug party-list Rep. Shernee Tan-Tambut to post on the social networking site, Facebook her disappointment at Raissa Robles.

According to her, she respects Robles for being an opposition to the incoming Marcos administration but she should not forget that as a journalist that her duty is bound to put fairness and facts before biases.

Tambut said Robles’ opposition to the incoming administration is not a reason to give an “unfounded judgment” on policies that have not yet been implemented.

Here’s the open letter of Shernee Tan-Tambut:

In the same letter, Tan-Tambut invited Robles to Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Zamboanga City so that she could experience peace in the southern part of Mindanao.

Her open letter has gone viral garnering mixed reactions from the netizens.

Raissa Robles has yet to issue any statement regarding the open letter posted by the lady solon on Facebook.
