Ka Leody runs for president in the coming elections together with his running mate, Former Akbayan congressman Walden Bello.

They will go against the tandem of; former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Manny Pacquiao and Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza as well as Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

On April 23, Ka Leody said that the remains of former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr. must be exhumed and should be returned to his hometown in Ilocos Norte.

“Dapat talaga ’yan kasi kapag ’yung isang diktador na pinatalsik ng mamamayan ay nadoon sa Libingan ng mga Bayani, nakakatawa tayo niyan. [At] para hindi na rin pamarisan… Hukayin na natin at ibalik natin sa Ilocos Norte,” he said.

His call earned the reaction of Robin Padilla.

In a Facebook post, he wrote: “Subukan mo. Gawin niyo sa harap ko.”

Robin is currently supporting the candidacy of Marcos Jr. In an interview in 2016, the actor called the late president a “hero.”

Leody de Guzman has yet to react to the stern warning issued to him by Padilla.
