Dexter De Guzman said this in an interview with popular talk show host Boy Abunda on March 7th.

According to Dexter, they were shocked by their father’s decision to run under the Partido Lakas ng Masa (PLM) because the latter wanted to reach the highest position in the government.

But their father convinced them that he was serious about his desire to be president.

“Syempre na shock ako… Tatay ko tatakbo [sa] pinakamataas na posisyon?… Ayaw talaga namin, nag-usap kami, inupuan namin. Na-explain-an kami na kung bakit niya gustong tumakbo. Ayun, naliwanagan kami,” he said.

Even so, Dexter could not help but worry about their security, especially since the position their head of the family is running for is very high.

It can be recalled that the photo of the candidate with his family went viral on social media where his seemingly decent lifestyle can be seen.

Some have said that the candidate’s standard of living is far from that of the poor he represents.

Even the expensive dog of the De Guzman family was targeted by the questioning of netizens.

Ka Leody de Guzman will run for president this coming May 9, 2022 election alongside his running mate, Walden Bello.

They will go against the tandem of; Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Manny Pacquiao and Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza as well as Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
