Sara Duterte is a member of LGBT community
SARA DUTERTE – A group slammed the Davao City Mayor and vice-presidential candidate for saying she is also a member of the LGBT community.
The presidential daughter will run for vice president in the coming elections alongside her running mate, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Jr.
They will go against the tandem of; Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Manny Pacquiao and Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza as well as Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
During a speech before the LGBT Pilipinas group in Quezon City, she said that she’s also part of the LGBT community.
According to her, she cuts her hair when she wants to be a man.
However, a group known as Bahaghari criticized her saying that her claim that she’s part of their community is “nothing more than a ‘trapo’ behavior.”
“Huwag po tayong magpapabudol [Let us not be fooled]. This is nothing more than a ‘trapo’ behavior by a politician seeking votes and sympathy from our community,” Rey Valmores-Salinas, Bahaghari chairperson.
Salinas also asked if the Davao City Mayor is the extension of the so-called ‘Duterte legacy’ in the interest of LGBTQIA+ Filipinos.
Salinas added that given the last six years of a Duterte presidency, the answer is a complete and resounding no.
Apparently, Salinas did not elaborate his statement but it might mean they will not give their vote to the presidential daughter since she’s running for vice president.
The camp of Sara Duterte has yet to respond to the statement of Salinas.
Currently, she and her running mate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos are currently in Laguna for another leg of their campaign rally.
