SARA DUTERTE — The vice-presidential candidate recently explained why she and her running mate, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., have been campaigning separately.

During a chance interview in Batangas City, Mayor Sara said that splitting up on the campaign trail was the UniTeam’s strategy.

Mayor Sara’s explanation came after some observers have noted that the Bongbong-Sara UniTeam tandem have, more often than not, been campaigning separately.

While splitting up on the campaign trail wasn’t unusual, Bongbong and Sara have certainly done it more compared to their rival pairs.

Bongbong and Sara have been consistent frontrunners in pre-election surveys for the position of president and vice president, respectively, in the 2022 elections.

Mayor Sara, who is the chairman of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD), launched the “Mahalin Natin ang Pilipinas Ride (MNPR)” even before the start of the campaign last February 8.

The caravan, which technically didn’t involve Bongbong, has become Mayor Sara’s main vehicle in spreading her platform of patriotism and unity to Filipinos all over the Philippines.

On Wednesday, Bongbong and Sara, as well as UniTeam senatorial candidates, arrived in Bacolod City as the UniTeam will hold a grand rally at the Bacolod reclamation area.

According to Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, a crowd of 80,000 is expected to attend the said event.
