Ruffa Gutierrez on Herbert Bautista Split: ‘Not All Storybooks Are Meant to Last Forever’
RUFFA GUTIERREZ – Actress and beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez confirmed that she is single and not dating anyone, though she admitted that a few men have been texting her, as she opened up about her breakup with Herbert Bautista on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
Ruffa said she and the former Quezon City mayor are still on good terms. “I think that space just became much bigger with Herbert,” she shared.
“We are still friends, we communicate regularly. If I need advice, I still talk to him and sometimes he calls me. But I have not seen him face to face since we broke up last year,” she added.
Asked why the relationship did not work out, Ruffa said “there were things beyond our control” that took them through different phases in their lives. She also credited Herbert for being a big influence in her decision to go back to school.
“Not all storybooks are meant to last forever. Sometimes, you just enjoy that chapter, then you close the book, and move on,” she said.
Ruffa went public with the relationship in 2024. In a June 2025 interview on the same show, she admitted that they were going through a “rough bump” and were not speaking at the time.
The actress is part of the cast of the dark comedy Red Crown, which opens in cinemas nationwide on Wednesday, October 28. She also had sweet words for her co-star Faith Da Silva, the daughter of her former love team partner Dennis Da Silva.
Ruffa recalled being surprised when Faith first introduced herself. “Oh my god, wow, she’s pretty,” she said. “I love her.”
She said she would support Faith if she ever joins a beauty pageant. “I think with just the right makeup, right team, right Q&A. She’s beautiful because she has that Latina factor as well as exotic Filipina,” Ruffa said. “She’s like a flower that can still blossom and bloom into something more beautiful.”
Ruffa also cleared up old talk about Dennis. “Mommy just made it a big deal,” she said, stressing that they were never in a relationship.
