Did you know all the members of Apo Hiking Society are now Kakampinks?
JIM PAREDES – The singer revealed that other members of the legendary OPM group Apo Hiking Society are now Kakampinks or supporters of Vice President Leni Robredo.
According to Jim, Danny Javier and Boboy Garovillo are now Kakampinks.
Recently, he went to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein he posted a photo of himself along with other members of the Apo Hiking Society.
His post was accompanied by the caption, #TatlonAPOsilaForLeni.
Javier was once a staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, that’s why many were surprised after he announced his support to Robredo.
Meanwhile, fans of Jim and Apo appreciated the unity of the said group in supporting Robredo.
Among those who requested the group to have a reunion was vice-presidential candidate Kiko Pangilinan.
“Reunion na!” he said.
However, the group has not yet confirmed if they will reunite on stage after their 12-year separation.
The Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, later popularly known as APO Hiking Society, or simply APO, is considered one of the legendary OPM groups in the country.
It was in 1069 when it was first established at the Ateneo de Manila high school, with 15 members: John Paul Micayabas, Lito de Joya, Sonny Santiago, Gus Cosio, Renato Garcia, Chito Kintanar, Kenny Barton, Bruce Brown, Butch Dans, Kinjo Sawada, Ric Segreto Macaraeg, Goff Macaraeg, Doden Besa, Jim Paredes, and Boboy Garovillo.
After graduation, the majority of its members left to pursue individual careers, with only three members remaining.
The group has released 27 albums in four decades of its career. It is behind the hit songs; Panalangin, Ewan, Mahirap Magmahal Ng Syota Ng Iba, When I Met You, Pumapatak Ang, Batang-Bata Ka Pa, Awit ng Barkada, Doo Bidoo and to name a few.
