At present, the former senator has more than 50,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.

Citing COMELEC Resolution No. 10730, Trillanes said that political candidates, including himself, needed to register their verified social media accounts for online promotion and other campaign materials.

Trillanes, who is running for senator in the 2022 elections, also thanked the “kakampinks” or Vice President Leni Robredo’s loyal supporters for boosting his subscriber count on Youtube.

Maraming salamat po sa inyo, lalung lalo na sa ating mga #KakamPinks na tumutulong sa atin upang dumami ang ating YouTube subscribers para ma-verify ang ating account,” Trillanes said.

Trillanes made the appeal after the COMELEC (Commission on Elections) required political candidates to use only verified social media pages such as YouTube for online promotion and other campaign materials.

Earlier, the poll body had given political aspirants until January 31 to register their verified accounts and websites with the Education and Information Department (EID).

According to the poll body, only verified accounts, websites, blogs, and/or social media pages may run electoral ads and boost or promote electoral posts without prejudice to the existing policy of every specific platform for promoting or boosting electoral posts and/or running electoral ads.

Last week, the poll body has launched a platform that will provide free live streaming of e-rallies of national candidates for the 2022 polls.

The poll body said that the live streaming of e-rallies will be conducted every night on COMELEC’s official social media channels starting February 8.
