Claudine Barretto breaks silence on rumors she will withdraw her candidacy

CLAUDINE BARRETTO – The actress-political aspirant denied that she’s backing out of her candidacy as councilor in Olongapo.

Claudine is rooting the said position under the slate of her talent manager Arnold Vegafria, who’s running for mayor of Olongapo in the 2022 elections.

It was just recently when showbiz veteran Cristy Fermin claimed that she might not push through with her candidacy due to the lack of funds.

According to her source, the former actress has yet to receive funds to finance her campaign.

But in an Instagram post, she denied that she’s backing out of her candidacy.

She earlier took to the image-sharing platform wherein she posted a screenshot of an article about her, allegedly withdrawing her candidacy.

Claudine Barretto labeled the said rumor as fake news.

Her post was accompanied by the caption: “Mga Palanggas ko sa Olongapo & Claudinians. DI PO TOTOO na Nag back out ako sa pagtakbo ng COUNCILOR OF OLANGAPO.Tuloy po ang aking Pagtakbo .pls stop spreading lies & fake news. Thank you po.have a great day.”

Dubbed as “The Optimum Star,” Claudine Barretto is regarded as one of the iconic actresses of all time.

Her showbiz career started when she became part of ABS-CBN youth-oriented variety show, Ang TV.

Among her well-acclaimed performances are in drama series like Mula sa Puso, Saan Ka Man Naroroon, Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan, Marina, Iisa Pa Lamang.

Claudine Barretto also starred in box-office hits such as Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita, Anak, Got 2 Believe, Kailangan Kita, Milan, Nasaan Ka Man, Sukob, and Etiquette for Mistresses.

Presently, she’s gearing up for her candidacy as councilor under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) party.
