Cristy Fermin claims Claudine Barretto might withdraw her candidacy
CLAUDINE BARRETTO – The actress-turned-political aspirant is currently being rumored to withdraw her candidacy.
It was on October 7 when she filed her certificate of candidacy as councilor of Olongapo City.
But according to showbiz veteran Cristy Fermin, Claudine might not push through with her candidacy due to the lack of funds.
The former actress is rooting the said position under the slate of her talent manager Arnold Vegafria, who’s running for mayor of Olongapo in the 2022 elections.
“Hindi na daw po sumasama si Claudine dahil ang pangako daw sa kanya ni Arnold Vegafria nung kunin siya para tumakbo bilang konsehal ay si Arnold ang taya sa lahat ng gastos. Wala daw anumang gagastusin si Claudine basta tumakbo daw,” Cristy Fermin said.
But according to her source, Claudine has yet to receive funds to finance her campaign.
“Saan kukuha si Claudine ng puhunan sa kampanya e wala nga siyang proyekto?” she asked.
Claudine Barretto has yet to issue any statement regarding the issue.
Dubbed as “The Optimum Star,” Claudine is regarded as one of the iconic actresses of all time.
Her showbiz career started when she became part of ABS-CBN youth-oriented variety show, Ang TV.
Among her well-acclaimed performances are in drama series like Mula sa Puso, Saan Ka Man Naroroon, Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan, Marina, Iisa Pa Lamang.
She also starred in box-office hits such as Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita, Anak, Got 2 Believe, Kailangan Kita, Milan, Nasaan Ka Man, Sukob, and Etiquette for Mistresses.
Presently, she’s gearing up for her candidacy as councilor under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) party.
