Vico Sotto: “Dinonate nila ito walang fanfare, walang media.”
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto expressed his gratitude to Kapamilya stars Anne Curtis and Angel Locsin for donating money worth one million pesos.
According to Vico, Anne and Angel handed the check to his office without any media presence.
“Dinonate nila ito walang fanfare, walang media. Ni hindi nga kami nagkita. Iniwan lang nila ‘yung tseke,” he said in a Facebook live session on Monday, April 12.
It can be recalled that Anne and Angel raised more than six million from their celebrity auction Shop & Share which they distributed aid to the Philippine Red Cross and five other cities including Pasig city.
Meanwhile, Vico Sotto thanked everyone who extended help for the people of Pasig and said: “Thank you sa lahat nang tumutulong, nagmamalasakit, alam ko man o hindi.”
Vico Sotto, on the other hand, assured that the money raised will go to the purchase of vaccines against COVID-19.
“Idadagdag po natin ‘yan sa vaccination fund natin,” Mayor Vico Sotto said.
Apart from Pasig, other cities in Manila, Baguio, Taguig, and Quezon City also received money from the funds raised by Angel and Anne.
Angel and Anne started their Shop & Share initiative in May last year to help purchase COVID-19 test kits for the poor.
This is not the first time Angel and Anne have conducted Shop & Share for their countrymen. It can be recalled that the said fund drive was also carried out when typhoon Ondoy hit the Philippines then.
