President Duterte on his slot for COVID-19 vaccine shot: “Kung sino gusto sa slot ko, ibigay ko.”

On Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte volunteered to give his slot for a COVID-19 vaccine shot to those who “can live productively.”

During his weekly public address, the President said that his age was one of the reasons why he didn’t think the COVID-19 vaccine would do much for him.

According to him, he’ll waive his slot and whoever wanted to receive the COVID-19 vaccine shot can take his slot. President Duterte added that he had always been fatalistic and can accept it when his time was up.

“Ako, ok na ako… Ako, magwe-waive ako, magwe-waive ako because 70 above… ano pang makuha mo magsige ka, dream? Dream of what? Living until kingdom come? Ako mag-waive ako, kung sino ‘yung may gusto sa slot ko, ibigay ko. Whether it’s COVID or a bala, or whatever, disgrasya. Wala ako masyadong ano diyan sa illusions about life and death. If anyone wants to have it, they can have it,” President Duterte said.

The President, who was a senior citizen, claimed that he’s not a priority for the local vaccination program against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

President Duterte turned 76 last March 28.

Meanwhile, President Duterte asked Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director-General Dr. Eric Domingo if Ivermectin had cured anyone of COVID-19.

Domingo then responded that many patients had been claiming that Ivermectin cured them of COVID-19, but he added that the same patients had also been taking other medicines.

Also, Domingo told President Duterte that experts had said there’s still not enough evidence that Ivermectin caused a person to be cured of the deadly coronavirus disease.
