During his regular press briefing, Roque said that he was set to be discharged from PGH after six days of confinement because of COVID-19.

Broadcasting for the last time in PGH. I will be discharged today after six days,” said Roque, who was a COVID-19 survivor.

He then thanked the doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants who took care of him during his confinement at the Philippine General Hospital, as well as those who prayed for his recovery.

To recall, he announced his confinement for COVID-19 last April 10. He later said that his doctors ordered his confinement after his oxygen level went down to 90, which was lower than the normal level of 95 percent.

Roque drew flak for quickly securing his COVID-19 hospital bed despite the shortage. However, he said that he didn’t get special treatment from the Philippine General Hospital — a COVID-19 referral hospital.

According to him, he’s in an ordinary room and it took him four days before he could actually enter the room. Roque also said that it was only when his oxygen level went down to 90 when he was asked to come in.

Earlier, Roque said that he experienced coronavirus symptoms last April 5 and tested positive for COVID-19 the following day. However, Roque couldn’t say if what happened to him was coronavirus reinfection as he first got infected with COVID-19 last March 15.

Despite requests from the media, the Presidential spokesperson declined to show his COVID-19 test results, citing privacy.
