Roque on releasing COVID-19 test result: “I don’t think it’s important”

During the Presidential press briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Tuesday had declined to make public his COVID-19 test result.

He noted that “it’s not important” to release his COVID-19 test result despite requests for it to be shown for transparency.

Bakit naman gusto nilang makita? I don’t understand that but let me see if I have it. Hindi ko maintindihan why I have to show it actually. I don’t think it’s important,” Roque said in his briefing on Tuesday.

Roque on Monday bared that he yielded a positive COVID-19 test result, the same day that he’s supposed to attend the Cabinet meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte.

Currently, Roque was already in quarantine in an Oplan Kalinga isolation facility.

Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos-Manotoc and Testing czar Vince Dizon also announced that they placed themselves under isolation as they’re close contacts of Roque during the ceremonial vaccination of healthcare workers in Laoag City last March 12, two days before Roque took his last RT-PCR test.

According to Roque, he was still negative for COVID-19 last March 10, a day before he attended an inauguration ceremony with President Duterte and other Cabinet officials in Dumaguete.
