Roque On How He Secured Hospital Room Despite Shortage

Harry Roque on how he secured a hospital room after he contracted the virus.

Here’s what Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said when asked on how he secured a hospital room after he contracted the virus.

Roque On How He Secured Hospital Room

In a report on GMA News Online, Roque on Monday refused to go into details on how he secured a hospital room — a scarcity amidst the surge in coronavirus cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) — after he contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) over the weekend.

With all due respect, I think that’s an un-Christian question,” Roque replied when asked about it during his regular press briefing.

However, when asked on what were his symptoms that warranted hospital confinement, Roque said that he started his isolation at home but his oxygen level dropped to 90.

With this, Roque stressed that measures were in place in order to treat COVID-19 patients in the Philippines.

According to Roque, he can assure the public that under President Duterte’s administration, all those who were in need of medical assistance will be given help because of the Universal Healthcare Law.

Last Saturday, Roque announced that he’s infected with COVID-19. His announcement marked the second time he had tested positive for COVID-19 in less than a month.

Roque first announced that he’s COVID-positive last March 15 and that he’s asymptomatic. Despite prodding from journalists, he had declined to show his COVID-19 test results during his first infection, citing privacy.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) refused to comment on the alleged prioritization of Harry Roque. Harry Roque didn’t say where he was confined in, but sources told ABS-CBN News that Roque was seen at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).
