Recently, the five winners of Miss Philippines 2019, Arlove de Jesus (Winner), Jamilla Van Gestel (1st runner-up), Joanna Valencia (2nd runner-up), Camille Llorente (3rd runner-up), and Charity Dawn, Jamon (The 4th runner-up) went before Raffy Tulfo’s office on Idol in Action asking help for their unpaid cash prizes.

The beauty queens were crowned last November 2019.

Aside from earning their title, they also received cash prizes worth from PHP200,000, PHP150,000, PHP100,000, PHP50,000 and PHP25,000 respectively.

But almost a year later, they were still not paid by Miss Philippines Foundation, Inc. in their wins.

They specifically complained to Tulfo about the president of the foundation named Victor Torre.

Camille, who stands as the group’s spokesperson, said that supposedly they will receive cash prizes, two months after the coronation night.

According to her, they had a meeting with the foundation in December.

Torre allegedly issued checks to them, but only half of the total cash prize was written.

Camille allegedly asked Torre why only half of their reward money was written on the check.

In January 2020, they met again and according to Torre something changed in their contract.

Unfortunately, they were unable to encash the checks issued to them because it bounced.

Idol in Action spoke to foundation secretary Anne Cabrera but she told Raffy Tulfo that she could not find Torre either.

Raffy Tulfo consulted with Atty. Garreth Tungol, and the latter recommended that Torre be charged with large-scale estafa.
