Dennis Padilla demanded a public apology to former broadcaster Jay Sonza over the issue with his daughter Julia Barretto.
Recently, Sonza made headlines after spreading rumors that Dennis’ daughter was pregnant with Gerald Anderson’s baby.
Earlier, the comedian said that he is hoping the issue won’t settle into a lawsuit at the same time he demanded an apology from the broadcaster.
“Sinabi ko nga na I hope wag nang umabot sa kasuhan, ang gusto ko sana we can settle this amicably and I hope that Jay Sonza, si Kuya Jay ay mag-public apology na lamang,” he said.
“Kaya lang siyempre karapatan rin naman ng anak ko na mag file ng kaso kasi she’s an adult and she has to protect her name,” he added.
According to him, he respect his daughter’s decision with regards to the issue.
In the later part of his interview, Dennis Padilla said that he is willing to support his daughter on her legal battle.
“Yes I’m willing. Siyempre anak ko ‘yun e ‘di ba? Pero ako ang wish ko lang na kuya Jay mag public apology ka na lang para sa anak ko. Regalo mo na sa akin ‘yun. Di naman ako iba sa ‘yo,” he said.
Meanwhile, Julia Barretto filed a case against Jay Sonza at the National Bureau of Investigation.
Jay Sonza has already issued a statement regarding the matter but he is yet to make an apology.
On the other hand, Marjorie Barretto- who earlier denied that her daughter was pregnant, also pledged support towards her daughter in her lawsuit.
