Paul Soriano was tapped to direct the first SONA of PBBM
PAUL SORIANO – The husband of Toni Gonzaga was chosen to direct the first-ever State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Soriano is the husband of actress-host Toni Gonzaga.
He is the director of some well-known films such as A Journey Home (2009), Thelma (2011), Kid Kulafu (2015), and Dukot (2016).
During the election period, Paul served as director of campaign ads for his “ninong” Bongbong Marcos.
This time, Soriano has been chosen as director of the first SONA of PBBM.
Batasang Pambansa complex will be placed under lockdown starting Friday, July 22, in preparation for the first SONA of President BBM on Monday, July 25.
According to House of Representatives Secretary-General Mark Llandro Mendoza, the preparations for the plenary is almost finished.
“Rest assured the House is ready for Monday,” he said.
Meanwhile, it is expected that more or less 1300 persons will personally attend the SONA of the president. However, they need to present a negative result of RT-PCR first.
A group from Ilocos is said to be assigned to sing the national anthem.
In the first SONA of Marcos Jr., he will present his plans for the coming years.
Paul Soriano first express his openness to direct the SONA of the incumbent president in a previous interview wherein he was asked if there was a government position already reserved for him.
In the said interview, he stressed that there’s “no such thing” that he might be appointed as secretary of the Department of Tourism or Presidential Communications team of the Marcos administration.
