Principal Allegedly Humiliates a Teacher from Palawan Every Day
TEACHER VS PRINCIPAL – A teacher from Palawan has filed a complaint against her principal, alleging frequent public humiliation.
Mary Hazel Austria, a teacher at El Nido National High School, shared her emotional account of how the principal repeatedly embarrassed her in front of students and fellow teachers. Austria’s child, who also attends the same school, reportedly experienced similar mistreatment from the principal.
Initially hesitant to discuss the situation, Austria eventually decided to come forward after enduring persistent negative treatment, stating that she could no longer stay silent. She admitted that even though she was afraid of the principal, the emotional burden pushed her to speak out.
Austria revealed that she hadn’t previously told her husband about the issue, but recently opened up to him about her struggles. She believes other staff members are also too afraid to report the principal’s behavior.
Former students supported Austria, describing her as a caring and effective teacher. One netizen, Mia, recalled her time with Austria during senior high school, calling her one of her favorite teachers. Mia praised Austria for her kindness, patience, and nurturing attitude toward students, both inside and outside the classroom. She sent words of encouragement to Austria, hoping she would receive the justice she deserved.
As of press time, the principal has not issued a response to the allegations made by Austria.
To recall, a teacher from Tibagon Elementary School passed away on September 19, with her death linked to stress caused by insults from the school principal. This stemmed from an incident in Teacher Marjorie’s class, where one of her students sustained a head injury, prompting the child’s parents to report her to the principal.
This led to harsh reprimands from the principal, criticizing her competence after 31 years of teaching. Marjorie shared her distress in a group chat with fellow teachers, revealing how deeply the comments affected her. The stress contributed to her hospitalization, and she tragically passed away due to complications believed to be related to this stress.
