A scholar under the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) achieved an exceptional result after obtaining a perfect score of 800 out of 800 in the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) during her first attempt on June 12.
The student, identified as Queenie Roda Futalan, is a magna cum laude graduate of Negros Oriental State University (NORSU). The university commended her not only for her strong academic performance but also for being a consistent scholar and an active student involved in various academic and extracurricular activities during her college years.
According to the university’s statement, Futalan aspires to secure another government scholarship to support her continued studies in medical school. Her perfect NMAT score placed her in the 99+ percentile rank, indicating performance superior to nearly all other examinees nationwide.

Her achievement quickly gained attention online, where numerous netizens extended their congratulations and expressed admiration for her accomplishment. Social media users also made light comparisons to Zhang Yingfei, a Chinese actress best known for portraying the brilliant Linda Walker in the hit vertical micro-drama The Heiress Who Won With Brains.
The 22-year-old actress arrived in Manila on Sunday evening, June 7, 2026, as part of a civic program led by the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry Inc. (FFCCCII). Her visit supports the group’s “Education for a Better Future” campaign, which seeks to inspire Filipino students to strive for academic excellence.

Meanwhile, many online reactions highlighted her intelligence and celebrated her success, while others described her as a representation of both academic excellence and personal appeal. The post received overwhelmingly positive responses, with many emphasizing the rarity and inspirational nature of her achievement.
