Dingdong Dantes Speaks on Long-Standing Rumors About Him and Lindsay de Vera
DINGDONG DANTES – The Kapuso TV host-actor addressed long-standing rumors that he had a child with actress Lindsay de Vera.
In an interview on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” on May 9, 2024, Dingdong strongly denied these claims. The rumors had picked up again due to videos on social media about his supposed past with Lindsay. Faced with these renewed claims, Dingdong clearly denied them, emphasizing his commitment to honesty because of the concerns from his family and friends.
Before the interview, Dingdong revealed he was unsure about discussing the issue, knowing it could come up. He expressed his deep commitment to his family—his wife, Marian Rivera, and their children—and his duty to protect them from false accusations. He mentioned that at first, he and Marian had laughed off the rumors, but as they continued to spread, he felt he needed to publicly deny them.
“I have a responsibility sa aking pamilya to clear things like this,” he said. “I love my wife, I love my family very much, my kids. That’s why I’m saying that it is not true,” he added.
This controversy started in 2021, when there was speculation about a relationship between Dingdong and Lindsay during their time working together on GMA-7’s prime-time series “Pari Koy” and “Alyas Robin Hood.” Lindsay has also repeatedly denied the rumors, showing respect for Dingdong’s marriage and even threatening legal action against those spreading harmful gossip.
In an exclusive interview with PEP in August 2022, Lindsay talked about her personal life, revealing she was already dating Kurt Kendrick when the rumors surfaced. She described how she and Kurt dismissed the rumors, highlighted by a playful gym photo Kurt posted to humorously refute the pregnancy claims. Lindsay attributed the origin of the rumors to a blind item that linked her and Dingdong, noting that she now sees the whole episode as a humorous story.
