A lot of people turn to food whether they are stress or happy. Eating gives a lot of comfort to many individuals thus there are often times the so-called “cravings”. One of the usual cravings of many people is Ramen. It it is a favorite of countless people across the globe not only the Japanese.

Ramen is a Japanese noodle soup with pork slices, egg, mushroom, noodles, and herbs. If you are looking for something to eat that is delicious but not very heavy in the stomach, it can be a good choice. The first part of the Ramen recipe is the list of ingredients that you need to prepare. Based on Knorr, here are the ingredients you must prepare to cook a ramen that can serve four (4) people:

  • ½ kg pork belly, sliced thinly
  • 1 whole head garlic, sliced into half then toasted
  • 4-5 cup water
  • 4 tbsp Kikkoman soy sauce
  • 1 pack ramen noodles, cooked in boiling water until al dente
  • 4 tbsp chili bean paste
  • 4 pcs hard boiled egg, sliced into half
  • woodear mushrooms, cooked, sliced
  • 5 tbsp spring onions, chopped, for garnish
  • nori, for garnish
  • 4-5 cup water

The next step of the Ramen recipe is the cooking process which may take 30 minutes to cook. Here is a guide on how to cook this delicious Japanese noodle soup:

Making a broth from the pork. Put a heated pot over medium high heat and add the pork belly, garlic, Knorr Pork Cubes, and water. Bring it to simmer until the pork belly is soft and tender. Make sure to remove the scum that will float on top of the broth to keep the broth clear.

Flavor the broth. Flavor the broth by adding soy sauce and chili beans. Allow the broth to simmer for at least three (3) minutes after flavoring it with soy sauce and chili beans. Add the noodles.

Prepare the ramen for serving. Place some noodles in a bowl and pour some broth over it. Top the noodles with some thin slices of pork belly, mushrooms, eggs, and spring onions.
