Here’s the reaction of Morissette to the blind item about her
MORISSETTE – The singer known as Asia’s Phoenix has reacted to the blind item posted by an event director about her.
The singer’s name was mentioned in a social media post by Vic Sevilla, an event director who expressed disappointment with an unnamed singer known for her Mariah Carey-like whistle and referred to as the “phoenix.”
The singer was presumed to be Morissette. According to her, she was invited to a corporate event. Despite high expectations for a captivating performance, she seemed to lack vocal strength and enthusiasm, ultimately leaving the audience unsatisfied.
The director criticized the singer’s underwhelming performance, particularly considering the substantial fees such performers typically command for such events. Online users speculated about the singer’s identity, with many pointing to Morissette, renowned as “Asia’s Phoenix.” While the post initially garnered attention, it was later removed, though screenshots of it circulated online.
In a series of posts on her Instagram stories, Morissette claimed that she never met the event director who posted the blind item. She then revealed that she was bedridden with fever and had no voice the day before she performed at the event.
However, with her “show must go on” mantra, she decided to proceed with her performance the following day. She even asked her husband to cancel his work and drive her to the venue. Despite not being in her best shape, she continued with the show.
As of press time, Vic Sevilla, the event director, has yet to issue any statement regarding Morissette’s reaction to his blind item.
Meanwhile, Morissette is a singer dubbed as “Asia’s Phoenix.” She rose to prominence at a young age, emerging as a runner-up in TV5’s Star Factor at 14 and later gaining wider recognition as a semi-finalist in the inaugural season of ABS-CBN’s The Voice of the Philippines. With a remarkable vocal range and the ability to utilize the whistle register in her performances, she has captivated audiences both locally and internationally.
