PH Bet Gwendolyne Fourniol Makes An Early Exit In Miss World 2024 Pageant
GWENDOLYNE FOURNIOL – Philippines bet Gwendolyne Fourniol exited the Miss World 2024 pageant early as she was unable to secure a place in the Top 40.
Gwendolyne Fourniol, the representative from the Philippines, faced an early elimination from the Miss World pageant as she did not secure a place in the Top 40 during the coronation night in India on Saturday.
The Filipina-French beauty queen aimed to bring home the Philippines’ second Miss World crown, following Megan Young’s victory in 2013. Young was also selected as one of the presenters for this year’s pageant.
In the lead-up to the coronation night, Gwendolyne demonstrated an impressive performance in pre-pageant activities, earning recognition in the Talent Competition’s top 23, the Head to Head Challenge’s top 25, and qualifying for the Sports Challenge Final. Proudly showcasing Ilonggo textile in the national costume competition, Gwendolyne symbolized the Filipina’s craftsmanship spirit of dignity, growth, and joy.
Having previously won the Miss World Philippines crown in 2022, representing her mother’s hometown, Negros Occidental, the 23-year-old French-Filipino beauty, Gwendolyne Bolivar Fourniol, was crowned Miss World Philippines in the grand coronation night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on June 6 of the previous year, surpassing 35 other candidates.
Before participating in this year’s pageant, Fourniol pursued an Economics degree at Oxford Brooks in London. She plans to seek an internship at JP Morgan after graduation and aspires to launch a French tutorial service in the Philippines. With a top 15 finish in the competition the previous year, she clinched the prestigious title this time around. Her mother, hailing from a financially challenged background, was a former beneficiary of the ERDA (Educational Research and Development Assistance) Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing education to underprivileged children.
