Pastor Quiboloy Not Attending Senate Probe, Says It’s A ‘Bogus Hearing’

Pastor Quiboloy Claims Senate Probe Is A ‘Bogus Hearing’

PASTOR QUIBOLOY – Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy stated his refusal to participate in the Senate inquiry into alleged offenses, including s*xual abuse.

Religious leader Apollo Quiboloy declared his decision not to attend the Senate investigation regarding allegations, particularly those related to s*xual abuse, within his Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC). Despite a summons from the committee on women, Quiboloy maintained that only a court, not a Senate hearing, holds the authority to determine guilt or innocence.

In an audio statement shared on the Buhay Kingdom 2024 Facebook page, Quiboloy addressed Sen. Risa Hontiveros and her witnesses, former KOJC members accusing him of s*xual abuse.

Pastor Quiboloy expressed a willingness to present himself in a court for a fair judgment, emphasizing his refusal to undergo what he deemed a “bogus hearing” with what he referred to as “bogus witnesses” at the Senate. Quiboloy challenged the credibility of the witnesses, urging them to reveal their identities to substantiate their authenticity.

Quiboloy also noted that KOJC members recognized one of the witnesses, known as Amanda, who previously filed a case against him in a Davao City court, resulting in its dismissal.

Quiboloy stated, “We recognized the others because of their narrative, even though they covered their faces. One of them is Blenda Portugal, alias Amanda. She filed a case with the same allegations, and I faced it, but the case got dismissed, and now they went to the Department of Justice.”

The Senate initiated its investigation on Tuesday, with former KOJC members reporting incidents of s*xual abuse within the group during the hearing. They also asserted that certain church members were allegedly subjected to exploitative activities, such as begging and soliciting money.
