Jason Abalos Says He Will Allow Wife To Join Miss Universe Philippines 2024
JASON ABALOS – Politician and actor Jason Abalos said he will allow his wife Vickie Rushton to join in Miss Universe Philippines.
Vickie Rushton participated in Binibining Pilipinas twice, in 2018 and 2019, where she achieved the first runner-up position in 2018. In the subsequent year, the 56th Binibining Pilipinas in 2019, Vickie competed again but did not secure a position or title.
Her last participation in Binibining Pilipinas was at the age of twenty-seven, and due to age restrictions for candidates at that time, her aspiration of becoming a beauty queen concluded after winning Mutya ng Pilipinas International in 2011.
Currently married to actor Jason Abalos, and with a child, Vickie can now pursue joining Miss Universe Philippines, as the Miss Universe Organization has eliminated the age limit and allows married women and mothers to participate.
On February 21, 2024, Jason appeared on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda alongside his co-star from “Lilet Matias: Attorney-at-Law,” Jo Berry. One of the questions directed at Jason was whether he would permit Vickie to enter Miss Universe Philippines again, given the absence of age restrictions for the competition.
“Oo naman!… Lagi naman ganoon, laging kung ano yung gusto mong gawin, gawin mo.
“Kasi hindi naman laging tayo magkasama. May trabaho ako so minsan maiinip ka rin sa buhay,” added Jason, who presently holds the position of a board member in the second district of Nueva Ecija province.

Jason Abalos revealed that Vickie Rushton is currently experiencing joy as the mother of their child, Knoa, who has introduced considerable transformations into their lives. “Sobrang nag-e-enjoy [si Vickie] sa pagiging nanay. Sobrang-sobra,” he said.
“Madami po [nagbago] kasi dami kong ginagawa dati, ngayon wala na. Actually, buhat ko yung bata araw-araw.
“Akala ko, okay na okay na ako nung ikinasal kami. Pero noong lumabas yung bata, parang nakumpleto ang buhay ko.”
The actor also mentioned that he takes good care of himself for the sake of his family. “Gusto ko talagang makitang maayos yung anak ko, yung mga magiging anak ko,” he said.
“So, sabi ko, kailangan kong paghandaan. Kailangan kong maging malakas para makita kung ano ang magiging direksiyon nila sa buhay,” he added.
