Dong Abay Mourns Passing of Jeremy Guiab
DONG ABAY – The vocalist of Yano took to social media to pay tribute to Jeremy Guiab, the late boyfriend of Katrina Halili.
It was on January 28 when Jeremy, 53, a former politician who served as Vice Mayor in the municipality of Wao, Lanao Del Sur, died after suffering a heart attack at Katrina’s home in Quezon City. He was rushed to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City, where he was declared dead.
His passing was announced by Quezon City 3rd District Councilor Don De Leon. In a Facebook post, the politician noted: “My best friend, my brother, my confidant and partner. Jeremy G. Guiab succumbed to a fatal heart attack at around 5:00 PM today. Together with his family, we ask for prayers, for his soul’s eternal rest with our Lord. A precious life gone too soon. Wake details to follow..”
Katrina also took to social media to grieve the death of her non-showbiz boyfriend. The actress shared the saddening news on Instagram with a photo of a man walking away from the camera. “Ang daya mo, love. Sabi mo aalagaan mo kami ni Katie, bakit iniwan mo kami?” Katrina wrote alongside heartbroken emojis. She also posted a photo of her and her non-showbiz boyfriend on her IG Story.
Among those who mourned the passing of Jeremy is his longtime friend, Dong Abay, the vocalist of the Filipino rock band Yano. On Facebook, the singer posted a photo with Jeremy alongside John Lloyd Cruz, who is also their close friend, and veteran actor Ronnie Lazaro.
“Friends from the art community mourn the sudden passing of our beloved friend, JEREMY GUIAB, who I have known since the 1990s as an avid supporter of the local music and art scene. Rest in peace, brother.
Jeremy is between Ronnie and his son Gabriel in the photo,” he noted.
