Former Members Detail Alleged Abuses in Quiboloy’s Church

Religious Group of Quiboloy Accused of Abuses

QUIBOLOY – Two former members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, led by the controversial pastor, have come forward, alleging physical abuse and exploitation.

During a press conference organized by Senator Risa Hontiveros, one individual using the alias “Jackson” revealed that he was just 15 years old when he was lured into joining a youth camp of the religious group in 1999.

According to Jackson, members were compelled to solicit alms and sell goods in various areas, and initially, he was allowed to keep a small percentage of the money earned. However, after the camp, he was required to surrender all the proceeds. Physical punishments for failing to meet financial targets included slapping and caning, with some instances involving up to 100 lashes.

Another former member, Arlene Stone, shared a similar account, disclosing that she was forced to pretend to be a deaf-mute to increase alms received from strangers. Stone, who joined the group at 15, revealed that members were sent to different places to beg and sell goods under the pretense of being associated with various organizations.

The group’s money-making activities also included selling food, initially in Davao and later expanded to different parts of Mindanao. Those who excelled in selling were sent to Manila. Stone recounted undergoing punishments, including caning and forced fasting, for failing to meet quotas. She personally experienced humiliation and punishment by Quiboloy himself.

Both former members shed light on the exploitative practices within the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, exposing the alleged physical abuse, financial exploitation, and manipulation endured by its members. These revelations have sparked concerns about the group’s practices and raised questions about the treatment of its followers by its leadership.

As of press time, Quiboloy has yet to issue any statement regarding the allegations.
