CATHERINE CAMILON CASE – Vehicle Possibly Linked to Beauty Queen’s Disappearance Found

Here’s the latest update on the case of Catherine Camilon

CATHERINE CAMILON – An SUV, potentially linked to the disappearance of the beauty queen, was found in Barangay Dumuclay, Batangas City, as reported by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 4A on Friday.

According to CIDG 4A chief Police Colonel Jacinto Malinao Jr., witnesses stated that the vehicle had been abandoned in the area since Thursday. The SUV has been transported to the Batangas Provincial Police Office for forensic examinations.

Malinao informed GMA News Online that they are awaiting results from the SOCO team to determine if there is any biological trace evidence, such as hair or blood, in the vehicle. He emphasized that this ongoing effort is part of the broader investigative activities being conducted.

Recently, two witnesses claimed to have seen Catherine Camilon bloodied, being transferred from her car to another vehicle on October 12. They also reported that one of the persons of interest pointed a gun at them, identified as the personal driver of another person of interest.

CIDG chief Police Major General Romeo Caramat Jr. stated that the witnesses positively identified the suspect through the CIDG’s rogue’s gallery. Investigators are now exploring a possible love angle as a motive for the crime. The reward for information on Camilon’s whereabouts stands at P250,000, contributed by Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste, the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, and the business sector.

Authorities are focusing on two persons of interest in Camilon’s disappearance, including a policeman and a former owner of her vehicle. According to police, a close friend of Camilon informed her sister, Chin-chin, about the alleged relationship between the missing beauty queen and the policeman. The officer, whom Camilon was supposed to meet on the day of her disappearance, has been temporarily relieved from duty pending investigation results.

Simultaneously, the former owner of Camilon’s vehicle, suspected of involvement in a carnapping group due to using a fake address on the car’s deed of sale, is facing carnapping and estafa complaints.
