Janine Gutierrez: “Hindi ko pinangarap na maging kasing-sikat ng mga kamag-anak ko”
JANINE GUTIERREZ – The Kapamilya actress shared the reason why she never dreamed of being famous as her relatives.
The actress remains a solid Kapamilya as she renewed her contract with ABS-CBN at the Dolphy Theater in Quezon City last November 8, 2023. At that time, she thanked everyone who made it possible for her 2nd contract with the network.
Janine is the latest Kapamilya star to renew her network contract with ABS-CBN following Kyle Echarri, and Richard Gutierrez.
She said during the press conference for her contract signing with the Kapamilya network that she initially didn’t aspire to become an actress and didn’t want to be as famous as her relatives either because of the pressure. According to her, she felt she wouldn’t achieve what her mother or grandmothers had done.
“Hindi ko pinangarap na maging kasing-sikat ng mga kamag-anak ko kasi grabe ‘yung [magiging] pressure at intimidation [para sa’kin],” the actress said. “Noong bata ako, ayokong mag-artista kasi feeling ko, hindi ko kayang ma-achieve ‘yung na-achieve ng nanay ko or ng mga lola ko.”
Janine is the daughter of Ramon Christopher and Lotlot de Leon. The actress is also related to Eddie Gutierrez, Pilita Corrales, Richard Gutierrez, and Ruffa Gutierrez, to name a few.
But when she finally decided to enter showbiz, the actress shared that she focused on doing a good job and maximizing her potential.
According to the actress, she focused on attending acting workshops and she’s also working hard and being professional. She added that she wants to do her job well, to be diligent with what she does, and to study her craft.
Janine shared that her family is her big inspiration. She also said that she’s the eldest daughter of her family and her decisions revolve around how she can help her siblings and family.
